TRANSFORMATIONS

As part of La semaine du Neuf

From the fluidity of water to the implacable mechanics of machines, SIXTRUM Percussion explores the transformation of sound through mechanical and electronic devices and materials.

Transformations presents five works in which the sound material is in constant variation, whether through the manipulation of instruments in contact with water, the expansion of acoustic sounds through electronic processing, or the continuous augmentation of an original sound through looped repetitions. Three works inspired by the aquatic universe, in which sounds are in constant evolution, contrast with the mechanistic, pulsating universe of two pieces by Pierre Jodlowski that will be presented for the first time in Canada, Mécano 1 and Loops 24.
