Chaleurs

In this concert, Quasar - saxophone quartet tackles Chaleurs, a titanic piece by Walter Boudreau inspired by the solar system, as the audience is invited to wander around the performers.

Presented for the first time before an audience, this work, part of Walter Cercle Gnostique cycle, is a physical and mental feat requiring extreme virtuosity from the performers. An Everest of the saxophone repertoire, Chaleurs invites the audience to an interstellar adventure of rare intensity, highlighting the palette and richness of the quartet’s sound, which moves from the infinitely soft to the infinitely resounding, and from extreme speed to contemplation. Chaleurs is also the culmination of the long-standing friendship between Walter Boudreau and the quartet.
