40 years Concert
Past event
In the second concert celebrating 40 years of SuperMusique, we will hear a mini-marathon in 3 parts featuring improvised music based on conducting gestures and graphic scores that have played a part in the history of ESM during the 2000-2019 period. The musicians will be taking risks and working with the unexpected during three exciting 45-minute Rapids. (5 p.m. - 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.). Drawings, verbal instructions, conducting gestures, written instructions and graphic scores will lay out the path on this journey into discovering the heart of contemporary music.
SUPERMUSIQUE PRESENTS ITS 2020-2021 SEASON
7 CONCERTS | 12 PREMIERES | 25 RERUNS | 100 MUSICIANS/INSTRUMENTALISTS | 25 VOCALISTS
To mark SuperMusique's 40th anniversary, artistic directors Joane Hétu and Danielle Palardy Roger wish to invite you to celebrate this historic event with them. Accepting the new challenges imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, they have decided to present a brand new series of concerts in Montreal that will bring together musique actuelle’s new and established practitioners. Featuring more than a hundred seasoned and emerging musicians, this new concert season will be divided into various configurations, each testifying to the extraordinary expansion of this flowing musical genre, from its “spring” to its “delta”.
