Quatuor Bozzini — Composer’s Kitchen
The new edition of the Composer’s Kitchen offers an intensive professional residency for emerging composers. The final concert will feature the works created during this residency.
Each year, Quatuor Bozzini brings together different generations of creators for the Composer’s Kitchen, a professional composition residency for string quartet. Offered to four emerging artists, this transformative event blends the concepts of workshop, experimentation, laboratory, and concert. Together, they engage in a rigorous process of creation and exploration beyond the limits of the conventional and the expected, in a relaxed, non-competitive atmosphere.
This edition marks the 20th anniversary of the Composer’s Kitchen. To celebrate, composers Julia Mermelstein (Canada), Corie Rose Soumah (Canada), and Lucie Nezri (France / Netherlands), along with Nikolaus Schroeder (USA / Netherlands), have been selected through an open call held in collaboration with the Gaudeamus Festival in the Netherlands. Guided by mentors Zosha Di Castri and Maya Verlaak, their works will premiere at Gaudeamus on September 14, 2025, in Utrecht, before being performed in Montréal by Quatuor Bozzini.
