The Duo Marie-Hélène Breault Pamela Reimer pays tribute to three founding Canadian composers of the "Events of the Nine": Claude Vivier, John Rea and the recently deceased José Evangelista.
Mes Hommages II is a follow-up to Mes Hommages, presented by flutist Marie-Hélène Breault and pianist Pamela Reimer in January 2016 (SMCQ Tribute Series) and concluded in 2019 (Collection QB). This new version of the project will present new arrangements for flute and piano - made by the musicians - of key works of the Quebec repertoire, namely Las Meninas and Portrait of a Man in Elysian Fields by John Rea and Monodías españolas and Nuevas monodías españolas by José Evangelista. Claude Vivier's Piece for Flute and Piano and Pianoforte complete this program, which marks the fortieth anniversary of the death of this leading contemporary composer, while highlighting the creativity and virtuosity of the performers through original arrangements of works that have become milestones of the contemporary repertoire.
