Drawing of Ensemble Transmission

This season, Transmission opted for a huge challenge and programmed Anton Webern’s quintet version of Arnold Schoenberg’s first chamber symphony.

This arrangement breathes some air into the dense modern music classic, and the ensemble’s musicians are clearly capable of delivering an inspired performance. Also on the program: Pour Luigi by Philippe Hurel, a French composer known for his colourful orchestrations; John Cage’s Music for Five, and; Philippe Leroux’s Continuo (ns).
