Rock takes over contemporary music!

Legendary Italian composer Fausto Romitelli has created a unique style by successfully fusing spectral composition and the hallucinated and raging expressiveness of psychedelic rock. This original pairing forms the core of Professeur Bad Trip, a triptych inspired by altered states of human consciousness. The Montréal premiere of this work will be completed by works from three local composers sharing similar interests: underground rock musician Cédric Soucy crossbreeds his first influences in a hypnotic concert piece; Brian Harmann uses a subtle language in a work full of bewitching spectral influences; finally, Michaël Laroque takes over Romitelli’s ensemble to make it play something else, in a style showcasing instrumental diversity. Bad Trip: trippy music indeed!
