Paolo Perezzani studied composition with Salvatore Sciarrino and graduated in philosophy from University of Bologna. In 1986 he attended the Centro di Sonologia Computazionale dell’Università di Padova and in 1994 the “stage d’informatique musicale de l’Ircam” in Parigi. Winner of several competitions including the International Gaudeamus Musicweek (Amsterdam, 1986) and the International Competition (Vienna, 1992) his compositions appear on several recordings and have been performed live in Italy, Holland, Germany, America, Japan, Korea, Mexico and Australia. From 1985 to 1988 he was Salvatore Sciarrino’s assistant for the Composition Courses in Città di Castello. He currently teaches composition at the Mantua Conservatory.
