Alexander Strauch, born in 1971, is a German composer known for his contemporary music-theater works, including operas commissioned by major institutions like the Munich Biennale and the Semperoper Dresden. He explores microtonal composition and integrates theatrical and music-electronic elements. His works have been performed by renowned musicians and ensembles, and he has received fellowships from prestigious arts institutions. Strauch is also active in music administration, co-directing the aDevantgarde-festival and founding the JU[MB]LE youth ensemble. He is a music critic, writing for NMZ, and has served on several music competition juries.
