Isabelle Gaudreau is a Canadian clarinetist currently residing in Montreal, Quebec. At a very young age, she revealed her talent as a musician, enhanced by the pedagogical skills of her first clarinet teacher, Luc Jackman, who taught her for the first ten years of her apprenticeship on the instrument. She went on to earn a college diploma in jazz at Cégep de Saint-Laurent, under the tutelage of renowned Montreal clarinetist Yvan Belleau. She has shone in numerous musical events and competitions, including the Concours de musique de Victoriaville, winning several first places (2014-2016), the Canadian Music Competition, where she won 3rd prize at the national finals in her category in 2017, the Orchestre symphonique JFP Tour de France 2016, and a performance at Carnegie Hall in 2015. She completed a Bachelor's degree in classical clarinet at McGill University's Schulich School of Music with honors, under the tutelage of renowned clarinetists Jean-François Normand and Alain Desgagné. After being awarded an entrance scholarship to the Schulich School of Music, Isabelle is also the recipient of the Excellence Scholarship, recognizing the excellence and distinction of her musical interpretation. Isabelle has distinguished herself in various ensembles at McGill University, including the wind orchestra, where she performed as concermaster in 2020, the contemporary music orchestra and the symphony orchestra. She takes part in various musical workshops, including the Domaine Forget Academy in Charlevoix, where she attends a master class given by Yehuda Gilad, and the Klezkanada Festival as a participant in the Azrieli scholarship program. In 2023, she took part in the European Berlin Opera Academy workshop, as well as in several Opera Bouffe Québec productions. She is also a member of various jazz, klezmer and Latin music ensembles with whom she performs in Quebec.
