Originally from Brazil, Jefferson Perez holds a Master's degree in cello performance from the University of Montreal under the direction of Yegor Dyachkov. He also holds a specialist diploma in chamber music from the International University Center with David Chew, and a degree in musical interpretation from Paulista University, Sao Paulo, Brazil with Zygmunt Kubala. He began his studies at the Tatuí Conservatory with Eduardo Bello, and has also studied with Alceu Reis and Peter Daueslberg.

He studied chamber music with the Arianna String Quartet, a quartet formed by John McGrosso, Julia Shakarova, Joanna Mendoza and Kurt Baldwin.

He taught at the Tatuí Conservatory for 15 years and at the Municipal Music Institute of Sorocaba. He has performed as principal cellist with the Sorocaba Symphony Orchestra, and as guest cellist with the Campinas Symphony Orchestra.

Member of the Musicum Trio between 2002 and 2019, he received the First Prize and Best Brazilian Music Prize at the XX Chamber Music Competition City of Araçatuba, Fourth Prize in the Heitor Villa-Lobos Chamber Music Competition in Rio de Janeiro and he participated in the 6th International Chamber Music Competition Joseph Joachim in Weimar, Germany.

Cellist in the Sorocaba Quartet between 2011 and 2019, he participated in a tour through the State of São Paulo and received the Instrumental Music Prize from the Cultural Region of the State of São Paulo. With the quartet, he also participated in the Arianna Chamber Music Festival (St. Louis – United States) and the Santa Catarina Music Festival (FEMUSC – Brazil).

In 2004, he participated in the 8th Amazonas Opera Festival as a guest musician of the Amazonas Philharmonie, where Götterdämmerung by Richard Wagner and Aida by Giuseppe Verdi were presented.

He participated in the International Winter Festival of Campos do Jordão, the Music Office of Curitiba, Rio International Cello Encounter, having taken lessons with Antonio Meneses, Fred Pott (Netherlands), Roman Mekinulov (Russia), Alezander Znaconak (Belarus), Antonio Del Claro and Claudio Jaffé. Winner for his performance at the 28th Music Office of Curitiba.
