Born in Taiwan, Zhi Hao (Joseph) Tsao is an 18-year-old violinist who began his violin studies at age 5. After winning several local competitions, such as the Kiwanis Music Festival Competition, he joined the Royal Conservatory of Music’s Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy, studying with Min-Jeong Koh and Kelly Parkins-Lindstrom. Joseph has performed in many orchestras across Toronto, including the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra (TSYO), the Scarborough Philharmonic, and the Mandle Philharmonic, and has participated in masterclasses with James Ehnes, Giora Schmidt, and Jonathan Crow. Joseph is an undergraduate student at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University, studying with Prof. Jinjoo Cho.
