On Tuesday, December 2, during the Vivier Mix 2025 benefit evening held at Espace Orange in the Wilder Building, Le Vivier announced the creation of the Museond Prize for Creativity in Mixed Music, a new award dedicated to composition in mixed music.

The result of an initiative led by patron John Fairbrother, founder of the Museond Fund, this prize comes with an annual recurring grant of $13,000. The Museond Prize will enable the commissioning of a new work for acoustic instruments and electronic devices, to be presented each year during Le Vivier's season. The organization will be responsible for the complete management of the competition, including the national call for projects and the coordination of the jury. A rotation among member ensembles will be implemented so that each one can, in turn, be associated with the creation of the winning work.

The organization will take on the complete management of the competition, including the national call for projects, the coordination of the jury, and the final presentation of the project as part of its season. The announcement of this new support for creation was a natural fit with the spirit of Vivier Mix 2025, an evening celebrating the innovation and vitality of new music in Canada.

A huge thank you to the evening's patron, Sarah Albu, for her inspiring presence, as well as to the featured artists such as Philippe Macnab-Séguin, Cléo Palacio-Quintin, and the Paramirabo ensemble, featuring Jeffrey Stonehouse on flute, Gwénaëlle Ratouit on clarinet, Lyne Allard on violin, Viviana Gosselin on cello, Krystina Marcoux on percussion, and Jenn Mong on piano. We thank them for their talent, generosity, and incredible energy on stage. Thanks to them, the concert was a true journey of sound, and the co-creation workshop allowed guests to immerse themselves in the creative process and become actors in the music.

A big thank you also to all the donors and guests: your enthusiasm, curiosity, and participation made this evening a unique and inspiring moment. You are at the heart of what we do, and your support allows the new music community to continue to grow and renew itself.
