Roundtable – Culture and Indigeneity: Perspectives on the Decolonization of the Arts in Europe and Québec / Canada

 Culture et autochtonie

Artists, curators, and researchers come together in this roundtable to address decolonization in the arts and the representation of Indigenous artists, through a comparative lens between Europe and North America.

What does it mean to be an artist from a marginalized community today? Are we witnessing a real transformation in the representation of these artists within cultural institutions in general, and in the music world in particular? As part of a broader focus on contemporary creation in Québec and Canada, this roundtable brings together artists and specialists in Indigenous recognition and decolonial issues to examine institutional practices and initiatives aimed at redefining power dynamics in the contemporary arts field.
