La Semaine du Neuf 2026: Highlights from the Festival’s 4th Edition

festival

We’re still on a high after this incredible edition of La Semaine du Neuf! This year, the festival explored the theme Music & Movement through an interdisciplinary approach and a wide range of formats: performative concerts, hybrid creations, immersive installations, and professional gatherings. So many moments to listen differently, be surprised, and share meaningful experiences.

At a time when the impact of artificial intelligence technologies is at the forefront of creators’ minds and conversations, Le Vivier chose to revisit a fundamental idea—one as old as rhythm itself: the relationship between music and the gestures of the body, of dance. - Le Devoir

La Semaine du Neuf in numbers:

  • 43 events across Montreal
  • 158 local and international artists
  • 58 works presented
  • 2,700 smiles

What stood out most was the vibrant atmosphere: a genuine closeness with artists from around the world, conversations that continued after the concerts, and from one venue to another, the audience’s curiosity and enthusiasm.

Beyond the artistic program, the festival further developed its role as a platform for reflection and exchange, with a symposium, a series of masterclasses, and professional days dedicated to networking. This edition contributed to the visibility of a thriving scene. Many of the projects presented as part of the festival are also part of touring initiatives, helping bring artists and works beyond Montreal, across Quebec and internationally.

The 2026 edition also introduced the new youth program Mini Neuf and the Milton-Parc day camp, offering young participants an opportunity to discover new music.
