Call for Applications : Museond Prize for Creativity in Mixed Music

Le Vivier is pleased to announce the creation of the Museond Prize for Creativity in Mixed Music, a new award dedicated to composition in mixed music. Initiated by patron John Fairbrother, founder of the Museond Fund, this annual prize will support the commissioning of a new work for acoustic instruments and electronic media, to be presented as part of Le Vivier’s season.
For this inaugural edition, the prize recipient will compose a work for the saxophone quartet Quasar, to be premiered during La Semaine du Neuf festival in 2027. A prize of $10,000 for the composition of 14 minutes of music will be awarded, to be shared among one or more composers at the jury’s discretion.
- Instrumentation: Saxophone quartet and electronics
- Eligibility: Open to all Canadian citizens or permanent residents, with no age limit
- Performance date: March 2027, during Le Vivier’s La Semaine du Neuf festival
- Score deadline: September 1, 2026
- Application deadline: February 1, 2026, 11:59 p.m.
