Recognized for his expressive performances, cellist Juan Sebastian Delgado recently finished his doctoral studies at McGill University with Matt Haimovitz, focusing on contemporary music and Nuevo Tango. Interested in new music, improvisation and multidisciplinary collaborations, Juan Sebastian has performed on a variety of international stages in 20 different countries. Recent highlights include working with renowned composer Kaija Saariaho in Finland, touring in Asia with Collectif9, performing at the International Chamber Music Festival of Monteleon in Spain, teaching in Colombia as a winner of the McBurney Fellowship, playing as guest cellist at Artes Vertentes Festival in Brazil, teaching at El Sistema Armenia in Yerevan as a member of the Global Leaders Program, and performing concerts in southern Italy with the International Italian Orchestra, as well as touring as principal cellist of the YOA Orchestra of the Americas.
