
Lorenzo Paniconi is a composer and flutist of Italian and Canadian origins. Born in 1996 in Cagliari, Italy, he first studied the flute with Salvatore Saddi and Riccardo Ghiani, then at the Lyon Conservatory in Frédéric Berteletti's class. At the same conservatoire, he took up composition for the first time with Stéphane Borrel. He continued his training as a flutist in Carlos Bruneel's class at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, where he obtained a Master's degree magna cum laude in 2021. In 2019, in parallel with his instrumental training, he began a composition Bachelor in Peter Swinnen's class, which he completed in 2022. In 2021 he won an Erasmus scholarship to study with Daniel D'Adamo, Tom Mays, and Ivan Solano at the “Haute École des Arts du Rhin” in Strasbourg, France. Freshly awarded a Master's degree in composition from the “Haute École des Arts du Rhin” and the University of Strasbourg, he is the recipient of the “Prix Musique de la Ville de Strasbourg”, an excellence prize awarded yearly in recognition of academic and musical excellence. His music has been performed by ensembles such as Ensemble l’Imaginaire, Acchoche Note, Ensemble Intercolor, Collective LoveMusic, and Ensemble Tempus Konnex among others. As a performer, he is equally invested in classical and contemporary repertoire, having premiered a number of works by fellow composers.
