With a master's degree in classical percussion from the Université de Montréal and a 5th cycle diploma in orchestral repertoire from the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal, Léo Guiollot is very active as a freelancer with major classical, baroque and contemporary ensembles (Orchestre des Grands Ballets Canadiens, OM, SMCQ, Sixtrum, Paramirabo, Orchestres symphoniques de Sherbrooke, Trois-Rivières, Québec, Laval, Ensemble Caprice, etc.).
His keen interest in and aptitude for a variety of 'world' percussion traditions have also led him to travel and perfect his skills in Brazil, Cuba and Spain. He is now musical and artistic director of Kumpa'nia and for 10 years directed Movimento, a socially committed Brazilian percussion ensemble. His desire to share his knowledge has also led him to teach, notably at the Cégep de Sherbrooke.
Léo is also a Los Cabos artist.
