Initially holder of a Bs.C. in Music from the Université de Montréal, Hélène Laliberté has completed her schooling in musical education at the Université Laval and UQAM (ORFF pedagogical devices). She obtained a Master degree in musical education from the Université Laval and completed a Ph.D. schooling at the Education Sciences faculty of the Université de Montréal.

She has a successful career path: teacher for the school commissions and in universities, multiplying agent during the establishment of the musical programme of the Minister of Education, researcher for the radio programme «À l’école de la musique», Radio-Canada. She completed her teaching career by creating a music program adapted to the Greenfiel Park International Primary School. Recently retired, she is president of the Fédération des associations de musiciens éducateurs du Québec.
