Giulio is a composer, graduated in electroacoustic composition and digital audiovisual composition with honors, after studying with Giampiero Gemini and Alessandro Cipriani at the Frosinone Conservatory. His artistic research explores the interferences between contemporary instrumental and electronic music, using cross-media experimentation. Part of his work involves audiovisual composition, mixed media performances, and sound installations. His works have been performed by numerous ensembles, awarded in international competitions throughout Europe, the US, Canada, Taiwan, Australia, Argentina, Mexico, South Korea, and Africa, and broadcasted on Radio France, Radio4, Brava TV, VPRO, and Rai Radio 3. He worked in residence at ZKM [zentrum für kunst und medien], performed at the Centre Pompidou / IRCAM, and contributed to the large exhibit “Sound Art - Sound as a Medium of Art” curated by P.Weibel. He was one of five composers nominated for the prestigious Gaudeamus Music Award (2016 - Netherlands). Recently won the 2019 Prix CIME and first prize at the Destellos Prize, and performed at the MEN (Musica Electronica Nova 2019 - Wrocław) and ARS ELECTRONICA 2019 (Linz). In 2021, he created “Cabin Fever” for Milan Design Week, an interactive installation with clear references to the pandemic situation. Since 2016, he is the artistic director of the MA/IN festival (electroacoustic music and digital art festival) and the artistic director of the IN VITRØ sound art project ~ for Matera 2019 - European Capital of Culture. He’s published by AIMI, Babelscores, Sonic Art Award, ICMA, Electro:thèque, ZKM, TAUKAY, ARS Publica, TWS, Stradivarius. He teaches electroacoustic composition at the Conservatory of Lecce (LEM).
