Multidisciplinary artist, singer, composer, and oral poet, Flavie Dufour received the Grand Prix of the Académie Charles Cros in 2020 for her second album Clair de femme, a hybrid of storytelling, slam, and song published as a CD book by Éditions Planète Rebelle. After her first EP Jazz et tralala (2009), she entered the world of storytelling at the Les jours sont contés en Estrie festival and distinguished herself at the provincial final of Slam de Montréal (2010). Cherishing a passion for ethnic songs, she directs the world music vocal quartet Yule, where she explores the power of polyphony and the voice in its raw state. She shines on the literary and improvised music scenes of Quebec, notably as the director of the Choeur fou, a noise ensemble of Folie/Culture. A pedagogue and vocal coach, she shares her passion through her cultural mediation workshops on slam and vocal expansion.
