Call for Scores: Taipei Chamber Singers / Le Vivier

Le Vivier is pleased to announce a call for scores for Canadian composers to create a new 10-12 minute choral work for the internationally renowned Taipei Chamber Singers. This project represents an extraordinary opportunity for Canadian composers of all ages to have their work performed by a leading vocal ensemble in an international setting.

Details:
  • Ensemble: Mixed chamber choir, 16-30 singers, a capella or with piano accompaniment
  • Duration: 10-12 minutes
  • Eligibility: Open to all composers who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents, regardless of age. 
  • Musical Style: There are no stylistic constraints for this composition; submissions from all musical genres are welcome.
  • Submissions will be evaluated by a panel of professionals from Le Vivier and the Taipei Chamber Singers.
  • Submission Deadline: February 15, 2025, 11:59pm PST (Pacific Standard Time)
  • The selected participant will be notified by March 15, 2025.
  • Score Deadline: October 1, 2025
  • Performance Date: January 2026, in Taipei's National Recital Hall (precise date to be confirmed May 2025)
     
Support Provided:

The Taipei Chamber Singers will cover airfare, hotel for 6 days, and local transport (including airport limo), and $3000 CAD commissioning fee. Le Vivier will provide a letter of support for those wishing to apply for additional funding.

  • A brief statement of interest (maximum 300 words)
  • Two representative scores (PDF format)
  • Corresponding audio recordings or MIDI renderings (if available)
