Mattia Berrini
Originally from Milan - Italy, Mattia Berrini has been a student of Fulvio Luciani and Claude Richard, and holds a Doctor of Music degree from Université de Montréal.nDeeply fond of chamber music, he has performed on the two sides of the Atlantic Ocean in festivals and concert series such as QuartetFestWest and New Music Edmonton in Canada, Artemusica in Italy, Festival do Inverno de Rio in Brazil.
Mattia has freelanced for several orchestras in Europe, Canada and South America including United Europe Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra Barocca di Cremona, Orchestre Symphonique de Laval and Orchestra Milano Classica. nAs a member of the Vaughan String Quartet, he has been artist in residence at the Banff Center in 2014 and has performed extensively throughout Canada, US and Europe, including participations in the Luminato Festival of Toronto, PAMAR in New York, the St.Lawrence Chamber Music Seminar at Stanford University and the FIMU Festival in France.
Throughout the years, Mattia has participated to masterclasses and workshops with important artists such as Eyal Kless, Andrew Dewis, Paulo Bosisio, Lin He and Robert Cohen. He is currently a violin professor at the Vincent d'Indy Music School in Montreal.
His interest in science has led him to also complete a master in cell biology at University of Alberta.
