Lo spazio inverso (1985)
Program notes
Once the rhythm is abolished, the movement is created from polyphonic gravitation like that of the stars in the sky or like the profile of the mountains on the horizon. In the desert, physiognomic features appear as silhouettes: islands of sound sketch out seas of silence. Within this silence, we find the sounds of our bodies, we recognize them as our primitive selves and hear the smallest tensions in the intervals as flares that - devoid of any emotion - light up like gestures in the dark. Our mind is generous enough to accept this terribly fragile music. Music is no longer to put the masses to sleep, but to awaken achievements at the moment when silence has fallen within us.
