Ensemble Triocular +

Ensemble Trioculaire + brings together three giants of improvisation: Lori Freedman (Montreal), François Houle (Vancouver) and Charlotte Hug (Zurich). The trio presents works developed with Ocular ScoresTM, a tool that generates real-time graphic notation from the analysis of sounds and textures, created by composer Linda Bouchard in collaboration with designer Joseph Browne.

The three improvisers of the TriOculaire + Ensemble collaborated closely on the development of Ocular ScoresTM. This tool allows the composer to push back the boundaries of expression while revealing the explosive and creative potential of the performers. This is part of the research and composition project Structures Vivantes, on which Linda Bouchard has been working since the fall of 2017 and which explores different ways of interpreting data in music notation and composition.
