Seyko Itoh

Seyko Itoh was born in 1983 in Saitama (Japan). She studied composition at the Tokyo University of Fine Arts and Music with Ichiro Nodaira, Tatsuya Hayashi and Atsutada Otaka 2000-2006 and studied at the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin (Germany) with Hanspeter Kyburz 2008-2013. She was invited to the international composition seminar of Ensemble Modern Frankfurt in 2006-2007. She was awarded a scholarship at the International Ensemble Modern Academy in 2007-2008 and a scholarship at the Academy of Arts in Berlin in 2008. She won the 2nd Prize together with the audience prize in the 73rd Music competition of Japan Award in 2004, as well as a nomination for the Akutagawa composition award in 2008, and 1st Prize at the Hanns Eisler Prize in Berlin in 2012. Her Flute Concerto is published in 2013 as a CD production by the Ensemble Modern Frankfurt. Her Works have been played in several cities in Europe. As a pianist she has performed numerous concerts in Germany.
