An Laurence 安媛 is a Tiohtià:ke/Montreal-based musician (guitar/voice) performing contemporary/experimental music, a curator, and a performance/multimedia artist whose works address memory and transnational identity. A daring performer, she collaborates with artists of various disciplines, and thrives in settings that stretch the limits of traditional music performance. An Laurence’s performance style ranges from contemporary classical to electronic music, as well as spoken and sung performance works. Her debut solo album “Almost Touching” released in May 2022 on people | places | records.
An Laurence’s performances and works have been presented among others by Accès Asie, the Music Gallery, No Hay Banda, Oh! my ears, Phénoména, le Quartier des spectacles, Lucky Penny Opera/re:Naissance opera, Chinatown Biennial, MUP, Tranås at the Fringe, Athens Digital Arts, Codes d’accès. She has been awarded artistic residencies by Oboro and Vidéographe. Her recent works include the storytelling performance “Come Closer, I’ll tell you what I forgot”, and the music-theatre performance “Chants d’amour” (comp. Elischa Kaminer).
