Born in Chile in 1973, he studied music and composition at the University of Chile and at the Music Research and Production Laboratory (LIPM) in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1996. He then took composition courses at the National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Lyon and participated in the IRCAM annual composition course (2005-2006). He composes instrumental, electroacoustic, and mixed music works.
His works have been performed in America, Europe, and Asia, at venues such as the CNSMD in Lyon, the Grame Days, the Biennale, Musique en Scène in Lyon, IRCAM’s Espace de Projection in Paris, the Archipel Festival in Geneva, Wasserspeicher in Berlin, Fabbrica Europa in Florence, EMS in Shanghai, Imatronic at ZKM in Karlsruhe, among others. His pieces have been performed by ensembles such as Ensemble Atelier XX, Ensemble Orchestral Contemporain, Ensemble United Berlin, Ensemble Vortex, Bubar trio, and soloists like Claude Delangle, Roméo Monteiro, Thierry Miroglio, etc. He has received commissions from the Chilean Government, the French State, Grame/EOC, and EXPERIMENTALSTUDIO, among others.
He was selected for the International Electroacoustic Music Competition in Bourges (2000) and was the winner of the Grame-EOC International Composition Competition in Lyon (2008) and the Giga Hertz Award from ZKM/EXPERIMENTALSTUDIO in Germany (2010). In 2014, he was selected by IRCAM to participate in the Composer-in-Residence program for Musical and Artistic Research on interaction in mixed music.
In parallel with his work as a composer, he collaborates on various creative projects combining computer music with composers, performers, and ensembles.
