Eliav Brand studied with Joseph Dorfman in Tel Aviv, and David Felder, Cort Lippe and Walter Zimmermann at the State University of New York in Buffalo where he graduated with highest distinction. He currently lives and composes in Berlin. Brand works with the diversity of American musical trends. His project focuses on highlighting the interplay of musical and socio-political trends. The composer’s works have been performed and broadcast in Europe, Israel, Japan, and the USA, in venues such as the Künstlerhaus Vienna, the Eclat-Stuttgart, and the Buffalo Festival. He has worked with performers such as the New York New Music Ensemble, Ensemble intercontemporain, Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart, SurPlus, Varianti, Quatuor Bozzini, and Ensemble Mosaik.

Brand received scholarships and awards from Minerva Foundation of Max Planck Society, Akademie Schloss Solitude, Berliner Senat, Künstlerhof Schreyahn, Yvar Mikhashoff Foundation, and the Research Foundation of the State University of New York. He curated new music concerts for Malchinim Menagnim in Israel and the University in Buffalo. He has taught at Buffalo State College and at the State University of New York in Buffalo.
