Claire Rousseau obtained a Bachelor Degree in Music (School Music) from McGill University in 1973.

From 1976 to 2008, she taught at Le Plateau school (CSDM), offering an intensive Music program. She has always been using ORFF pedagogical devices which include talking and singing voices, rythmic ostinato, percussions, movement, improvisation… She also taught choral training and recorder ensembles.

She published «Portraits» in 1995 which contains 14 songs with ORFF accompaniment and pedagogical hints.

She was president of ORFF Association (Quebec Chapter), from 1985 to 1987. She was president of FAMEQ (Fédération des associations de musiciens éducateurs du Québec) from 2002 to 2005.

Her students have performed in national Conferences and she has given many workshops all those years.
She organized a trip to China to take part of the International Conference of ISME (International Society for Music Education) that took place in Beijing from August 1 to 6, 2010.
