Audréanne Filion

Audréanne Filion, composer, cellist and multi-instrumentalist from Montreal, has now obtained her bachelor's degree as well as her artist's diploma in cello performance at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal under the tutelage of Elizabeth Dolin - and is currently completing a certificate in electroacoustic composition with Louis Dufort at the same institution. Having a great interest in contemporary music, improvisation and experimental music, the musician co founded the brand new Tesse Ensemble that brings together six renowned musicians from the Montreal scene with the goal of co-creating original musical works. Loving to combine the different forms of art, the musician has participated in several multidisciplinary creation projects, for instance, she composed and played the music of the dancers of the National Ballet School for their end-of-year project in 2017, she created and presented a piece with dancer Motrya Kozbur for the Women Between Arts serie at the Mannes School of Music in New York in December 2018 and also presented a collaboration with circus artist Brin Schoellkopf at the Montreal Complètement Cirque festival 2019 edition. As a cellist, she has created more than twenty works by her colleagues in the Canadian new music scene, including works by Keiko Devaux, Geneviève Ackerman, Olivier St-Pierre, Véronique Noël, Hans Martin, Mike Maevsky and many others.
