Growlers Choir / Vox Colossus

Vox Colossus
Vox Colossus

VOX COLOSSUS is an epic concert that brings together the mystery of sacred music, the inventiveness of contemporary music, and the energy of metal music in a spectacular event.

“Powerful. Fascinating. Memorable.” These are the words audiences use to describe the concerts of composer Pierre-Luc Senécal. Fascinated by mythology, Senécal has created VOX COLOSSUS, a work that touches on the timeless and the core of what it means to be human. At the heart of this grand spectacle is the metal choir Growlers Choir, accompanied by a church organ, a percussion ensemble, the invented instruments of Jean-François Laporte, and the crystalline voices of the Temps fort classical choir (directed by Pascal Germain-Berardi). With this stunning sonic arsenal, Pierre-Luc Senécal creates an extraordinary musical narrative. Unheard-of chants, tribal cries, body percussion, powerful sound masses... The music is in synergy with a stage design that will take the audience on a fantastic epic journey.

A co-presentation of Growlers Choir, Temps fort, the Canada International Organ Competition, Innovations en concert, Productions Totem contemporain, and Le Vivier, with the support of the Canada Council for the Arts, the Conseil des arts de Montréal, and SOCAN.
