Ce qui reste quand la peau se détache du corps

"What Remains When the Skin Detaches from the Body" is a captivating sonic and visual exploration of our relationship with time, space, and matter, situated at the intersection of performance, sound art, and installation.

"What Remains When the Skin Detaches from the Body" is an immersive experience that takes you on a journey into the depths of bodily metamorphosis. Artists Sara Létourneau and Chantale Boulianne invite you into a universe where the body transforms, deconstructs, and reconstructs, in a hybrid and sensory performance that pushes the boundaries of matter and sound. Accompanied by unique instruments, they weave an enchanting soundscape that resonates with our own transformations.

In the first part, "Chance Variations" is a musical experience that employs chance to create a constantly evolving composition. In this piece, orchestrated for vibraphone, bass clarinet, and viola da gamba, each performer plays at a different tempo, creating a subtle phasing effect where rhythmic alignment is in constant flux. The work incorporates random procedures and explores repetition through layered melodic cells that gradually evolve over time.
