The Spontaneous Sonata Project is a 70-minute concept piece in 12 movements exploring the relationships and contrasts between scored music and improvised music.

Six movements are thoroughly scored for two pianos and guitar. They alternate with six “structured” improvisations. The result is a work that transforms and confronts how we perceive the challenges of new music creation. Guitarist Tim Brady will be teamed up with two excellent pianists: jazz musician François Bourassa and contemporary classical music performer Brigitte Poulin. A long piece in 12 parts, not unlike progressive rock music.
