Marie-Chantal Leclair

Particularly interested by new music Marie-Chantal Leclair performs written music as well as improvised music. She recently performed two new works for saxophone and real time processing written by Louis Dufort and Julien Roy. She is member of Miriodor, an experimental rock band, wich released in fall 2005 his 6th CD, Parade, on Cuneiform label. With Miriodor she performed in Montréal, Portugal (Gouveia Art Rock Festival), and the USA (EdgeFest, NEARFest). She regularly plays with different ensembles from Montréal such as Bradyworks and Totem Contemporain. She has been president of Codes d’accès concert society in Montréal from 1994 to 1999. Marie-Chantal Leclair holds a bachelor and a master degree in music (saxophone) from the Université de Montréal. She also studied improvisation with the American flutist Robert Dick.
