For its twentieth season, the eclectic and versatile Quatuor Bozzini draws on the rich string quartet repertoire and also performs a selection of pieces specifically written for the quartet. They will share an intimate and intense atmosphere, pushing the boundaries of sound and the concert experience itself.

And hence Christopher Butterfiel's quartet Trip, in four asymmetrically shaped movements. It takes the listener on a breathtaking journey, occasionally mixing the sounds of a radio station with the instruments.

Daydream Mechanics by Michael Oesterle, inspired by the book title Mécanique Jongleuse by Quebec poet Nicole Brossard, explores hypnotic figures. And then Cassandra Miller invites us to follow her on trails of melodies in Leaving, played by the Canadian fiddler Zav RT along with birdsongs which are the basic materials for the composition.

Jennifer Walshe and Thomas Stiegler draw inspiration from the visual arts – one influence is a section of the painting Trafalgar Square by Piet Mondrian and another a set of drawings in Indian ink published in the book Privates by Austrian artist Tobias Pils.

A musical journey definitely not to be missed!
